Congratulations! You earned this badge by taking the time to look closely at how people experience a community and by identifying something you can do to make that experience better.
Communities are not built only in meetings, mission statements, or group chats. They are built in the small moments people remember.
This badge is not about having all the answers. It is about learning to notice what is happening beneath the surface: who feels included, who gets lost, who is quietly doing the work, and what small changes could make the community stronger.
The earner took part in the Experience is the Community workshop. One of the modules of the Open Community Leadership activity that looked closely at the experience of being in a community. They explored how community experience shapes participation, connection, ownership, purpose, opportunity, and mentorship. Through reflection and practical activities, they identified patterns in a community they care about and considered how to improve one part of that experience.
To earn this badge, the participant completed an Open Community Leadership activity through workshop by:
- Reflecting on a real community they are part of or care about
- Looking at the experience through the POPCOM lens
- Identifying what helps or blocks people from participating, connecting, growing, or staying
- Naming one small action that could improve the community experience
